IKEA is a privately help home product retailer selling furniture, round the world. It was found in Sweden, in the year 1943 by Ingvar Kamprad, who was then 17 years old. Ingvar’s idea was to provide home furnishing products having good function and quality at much lower prices than its competitors. He used his experience in Samaland to reduce costs and gain an edge over other retailers in the market. The first IKEA building and Supply chain case study stores were inaugurated in Norway and Denmark. The IKEA catalog was first produced in 1951.
